I Cannot Imagine Not Working

Thursday, July 7, 2016
One of the things that has always frightened me is the thought of simply staying home, embodying the kid TV version of a housewife. Not that I hate women (and men) who choose to stay home to take care of the kids and the house -- ya'll are fantastic for being strong with your decisions and I'm sure you're slayyying. I just feel like I have work-related dreams that must be reached, and I simply cannot imagine living a life not attending to those dreams.

But first, to avoid an angry horde of people, let me clear something up. I actually know a lot of great people who've chosen that path, and I don't believe that being housewives/husbands means you're less of a person. I don't think people who choose to work are selfish people, either. So, just to make things clear, everyone is awesome, no matter which path they choose.

And I choose work.

People have told me that I'll soon change my mind and realize that being a housewife/mother is the main #Goal in life, but honestly... it's been twenty years, and since childhood, I've always dreamt of being a #Girlboss, or just someone living the working life dream. I've always wanted a nice white desk with pink flowers and pretty decorations. I've imagined myself in meetings, the ones with really long tables and fancy presentations. I've always wanted a career.

Now I don't know what that might be, but what I do know is that I am not going to be swayed by opinions of peers and family regarding this decision. That career comes first for me.

I mean, yeah, it sucks to have some family members constantly say that the mother has to be there for her children, or that women should just find a husband who can do all the work (the stuff of nightmares, if you ask me). It sucks that this standard still exists here, and that women who choose to work are called out for "abandoning" their motherly duties.

Can't women want other things other than family? I get that family is important, but come on. Times are changing.

I'm not totally against the idea of having a family. I'd love to have a family, but I would die if I didn't have the chance to make my dream career happen.

I cannot imagine not working, so I'll work for a career. I cannot imagine not working, so I will not not work. People are motivated by different things (some motivations are just disturbing and sick, but let's not talk about that...) and people have different aspirations. Career is mine.

And I'm going to stick with that.

  1. Seems you are doing everything in a very systematic way. It is really very good actually.

  2. Yes, me too. I have two spheres of activity actually. And both of them seems to be important to me.

  3. If you would like an alternative to casually picking up girls and trying to find out the right thing to do...

If you would rather have women hit on YOU, instead of spending your nights prowling around in crowded pubs and night clubs...

Then I encourage you to play this short video to learn a shocking little secret that has the potential to get you your very own harem of beautiful women just 24 hours from now:
