Cafe Minima: A Tiny Treasure - Cagayan de Oro

I love supporting local cafes. It's a great way of encouraging extremely talented people to pursue their passions. Don't get me wrong, typical cafes like Starbucks are great, but there's just something about going to local cafes that I love. It's an experience you can't find elsewhere. At local cafes, you don't just get your caffeine fix -- you get your daily dose of inspiration, too.

That's exactly what I found at Cafe Minima.

This quaint little cafe is tucked away in the middle of busy Divisoria. I'll be honest -- finding this cafe was a bit tricky, but when I finally found it, it was like receiving a reward. Cafe Minima is very artsy. Cute illustrations and interesting knickknacks fill the tiny space, giving you something to look at around every corner. If you're the kind of person who loves finding unique things (like a plant inside a book), you'll quickly fall in love with this place.

Do note, though, that if you plan to come here with your friends, the space can only accommodate five to seven people. The cafe is that small, but I'm pretty sure it won't be like that forever, with all the hype it's getting! :)

I was surprised to find a lot of drink options despite the limited space. I tried their strawberry latte in a bottle and it tasted heavenly! What's even better is that you can reuse the bottle and bring it with you next time you visit! Of course, I had to try their best-seller: the beef sub. The only thing I need to tell you is this: you need to try it.

I think what makes this cafe special is that the owners themselves run the place. From the moment you step inside, they'll treat you like you're part of their squad. I met two of the lovely girls behind Cafe Minima, and they're super friendly, which just makes the whole cafe experience a million times better. There's nothing I hate more than baristas who seem like they'd rather be somewhere else. At Cafe Minima, you could feel their excitement and love for what they do just radiating.

Would I go back? Most definitely, yes. I do hope that Cafe Minima gets the attention it deserves, and hopefully, get a bigger space in the future, because I'm pretty sure more and more people will want to come by here.
